I love Halloween! I love decorating, dressing up, passing out candy and just having fun. However, this year I am not participating in any of those events. I am recovering from foot surgery. I am still on crutches (or use the wheelchair). Hopefully in two weeks I will get the OK from my doctor to start walking.
Later this evening, my husband Paul and I are going to his parents to see our nieces dressed up. They go trick or treating at Nonie and Poppi's house. I will try to share pictures of them dressed up.
In the meantime, enjoy this absolutley cute video. Kristina Werner, click here to visit her blog, works at Stampin' Up!. She is so creative, as well as the many staff members of Stampin' Up!. That would be my dream - work at Stampin' Up!. However, the offices are in Utah and I don't think Paul would go for a relocation to Utah. ;) Anyway, watch the video to see how SU celebrated Halloween Stampin' Up! style.

Frankie 2-4-6-8 box

As promised, here are the instructions for making this cute little treat box. The box on the far right I made at stamp camp. I CASED the box and the three to the left are my creations.
Supplies you will need -
Scor Pal or 12x12 cutter with scoring blade
8 1/2 x 11 cardstock or DSP (here I used Kiwi Kiss cardstock)
Scissors
1/8 hole punch
Brads - 2
Scraps of paper for hair and handle (here I used Lovely Lilac)
Googlie Eyes - I bought mine from Wal-Mart for 99 cents
Black Marker
1 inch circle punch
Kiwi Kiss Ink Pad
Sponge Dauber
Sticky Strip
1- Cut cardstock in half at 5 1/2 - you can make two boxes out of one sheet.
2- Position your cardstock on your Scor Pal or 12x12 cutter (use the score blade) width should be at 8 1/2. Score at 2, 4, 6 and 8.
3- Turn cardstock 90 degrees, width should be at 5 1/2. Score once at 1 1/2.
4- Cut the 1 1/2 score marks from the edge to the 1 1/2 score line. This will be the bottom of your box. You will have four 1 1/2 slits after cutting them all.
5- Fold on all score lines
6- Open up your cardstock and lay it down flat. At this point, I drew the stitches on his forehead and his mouth.
7- Adhere a strip of sticky strip to the little strip on the side. Also, adhere a strip of sticky strip to the edge of one of the tabs at the bottom of your box. When you fold your box together meet the edges to make a smooth seam on the side of your box. Fold in the bottom tabs so the one tab with the sticky strip is the last one to adhere them together.
8- Cut a strip of Lovely Lilac cardstock 8 1/2 x 1 1/4 for the hair. I used my scissors to make jagged cuts. Adhere adhesive on the top edge of the cardstock "hair". Start from the back of the box and in the middle at the top, wrap hair around the box.
9- Cut a strip of Lovely Lilac cardstock 8 1/2 x 1/4 for the handle.
10- On the sides of the box and the edge of the handle, punch a hole with the 1/8 punch.
11- Place handle inside box and add the brads.
12- Glue on googlie eyes.
13- Punch out 1 inch circle from Kiwi Kiss. Cut circle in half, sponge with ink. Adhere between his eyes.
14- Fill with candy!
Enjoy!
Show and Tell

Remember the days when you were in school and there was Show and Tell Day? Well, that is what I am doing today with some stamping projects I made.
First, I must confess, I did not come up with these ideas. My friend and fellow SU Demonstrator, Carrie Nelson, taught a stamp class on Friday at our city community center. Carrie and Rochelle share teaching the class however due to Rochelle's finger injury she was not able to teach.
I am so amazed at how these ladies go all out! The cards and 3D projects were great! We made two of each card.
Stayed tuned for instructions on how to make the Frankenstein 2-4-6-8 box.
Enjoy!

The Witch is in....

I love Halloween! I am having fun using my stamps and making cards. I knew I wanted to use these stamps and the scallop square punch, then the card just came together.
I punched the scallop square punch (Marvy Uchida Punch) in Basic Black cardstock. I stamped the images in Staz On black and trimmed them to fit on the scallop square. The stamps are from Michael's $1 bin. I colored in the stockings and the moon with the Signo White Gel Pen. I used Kiwi Kiss (love this color!), Lovely Lilac and Basic Black cardstock. The colors just pop! The border punch and bat punch are from Martha Stewart. The ribbon is retired SU purple grosgrain.
Enjoy!

Halloween is on it's way....

Since I have been home for the last two weeks due to foot surgery, I have had some time to play with my stamps. I am on the road to recovery and get my stitches out tomorrow.
Here are some cards I made yesterday. They are stink'in cute! Don't ya think?? I just love them. However, I find it to be interesting how critical I can be of my creations.
I must give credit where credit is due. I CASED the card template from Julee Tilman's blog, Poetic Artistry. Every Monday she has "Mojo Monday", a new card template and sample. This card template is from Mojo Monday week #44, click here for the link.
I came up with the idea for the inside of the card on my own. Yes, I can be creative ;). I like the spider web in the corner and the spider hanging down on his web. To make the line straight, I took a black marker and a ruler.
Supplies - SU Basic Black, Whisper White and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, Colorbok Eggplant & Sage Stripe, Halloween Paper scraps I had lying around, Hero Arts acrylic stamps - Happy Owl-oween, 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 Circle Punches and Photo Corner Punch, Mulberry Flowers, Self Adhesive rhinestones.
Enjoy!

I made these cards to send to my family and friends. What do you think? I am happy with how they came out. I copied the template from Poetic Artistry, see the link here.
I used SU Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip CS and Paisley DSP (retired paper but don't remember the name), Rose background paper from Micheals, My Favorite Things Stamp Set-Think Pink, Stazon Ink in Timber Brown, Round Tab Punch(SU), Martha Stewart Border Punch, Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion and Blush Blossom Markers, Mulberry Flower, self adhesive rhinestone and Pink Ribbon brads.

Don't you just love to see.....

the man in brown drive up to your front door? That is the UPS man. Especially, if he is delivering a box of Stampin' Up! products.
This cute Family Circus cartoon was posted on Beate's Yahoo Group. I thought this was too cute and had to post it to share with you all.
Enjoy!
